Try Testing Your Grip Strength

You have been working hard to get a stronger grip and forearm strength. You know you have made improvements but how can you find out. There are a number of ways to test your grip strength, some are more challenging than others

The one most people know of is ripping a phone book in half. It does take some pretty strong forearms and a killer grip but there is a technique to use that will make it more possible. You have to kind of get a good grip on it then pinch the pages together kind of like a fold. This will help get the initial tear going.

Bending nails is another feat of strength related to grip strength. Being able to bend a large nail or steel rod can be pretty awesome, but its not something you want to do a lot of as it can possibly cause some nerve damage in the palms.

Something a lot of people do not think about is ripping an apple in half. It takes getting a grip on the apple with both hands and pulling it apart. If you want to share an apple with someone this would be a good way to show off.

Some people can rip a deck of cards in half, this is actually hard to do. Shiny card stock is tougher to tear than regular paper and the cards can be difficult to grip because they are slick. There you have some ways to check your grip strength as you progress. It's possible you may not be able to pull off any of these feats but it is fun to try.
